How to Avoid a Rectal Exam

Ice, heat, ice, heat...

I...hate...running. But I'm doing it. Ellen, Lindsay and I are training for the 2009 LA Marathon, a goal that was never at the top of my list...or even on the list for that matter. The only thing that would make the training better is if Val could be there. Last Saturday was 4 miles, this Saturday it's another 10K. I feel like Forrest Gump.

As I sit and type, my leg is propped up on my desk with a soggy wad of napkins on my knee. I don't know what's worse...having a bum knee or having my pants rolled up so that my stubbly, scaley leg is on display for my co-workers to see. I didn't have time to ice up after running this morning and now there's hell to pay!

I...hate...running.

I'm back! After two solid years! The motivation? My Valerie....lovingly known as my seestor. Her blog is inspiring. I raise my glass to you, seestor.

Bad nuts

Am I the only person that enjoys getting a bad sunflower seed or burnt almond in their handfuls of nuts? We're not talking finding a worm, but having the out of the norm taste is almost exciting.

Nothing worse than...

Can anyone out there help me understand the following...

While in a supermarket, why the hell do people open up everything from chips to a can of soda and start drinking/munching as they continue to shop? Are they that hungry that they can't wait ten minutes until they're in their cars? Plus, talk about not having consideration for the clerks who have to hold stuff shut to avoid spillage as they're trying to scan it.

Out-rage-ous.

Nothing better than...

My manfriend has a blog and one of his entries inspired me to create my own. I'm also stealing an idea from one of his entries. Creative? Not so much but I'll continue to do so until I get a life of my own.

Alphabet Soup Bookstore- it smells like an old bookstore and a great place to get a buzz from spine glue.

Any hole-in-the-wall coffee house (a.k.a. anything but Starbucks and Coffee Bean)- my favorite being Aroma in Studio City where they have the best deserts and fries in the L.A. area.

A good, old-fashioned diner

Christmas - I always get the feve-ah around July.

Baking - Not only is it mindless, it's a sure way to win anyone's heart. A batch of chocolate chip cookies goes a long way.
